Show CommentsI attended Holt Trinity from January 1961 to July 1969 when I went onto Ashton Grammar. I read Biology at York University and went on to have a career in teaching, from which I recently retired. It all started at Holy Trinity and I look back with fond memories. My mother (Jean Hemmings) and her brother Bill also attended in the 1930s. I am really pleased the old school is still actively educating the next generation. The last name on your scholarships board is the mum of my best friend at the time, Gaynow Wadsworth. Happy times.

I started at holy trinity around 1970, and attended at the time of the Centenary, which left brilliant memories! I remember wearing the felt hat with elastic under the chin, walking all the way to Sydenham park church hall to eat dinner. The Trapnell family were in the vicarage at the time. We had little bottles of milk at story time. We had a special assembly when it was your birthday to lay out all your gifts to show! They were really THE most wonderful school years!!

I attended from 1970-76 Headteacher was Mr Lee who was fantastic, have lovely memories of this school. Other teachers I remember are Mrs Ward, Mrs Topping, Mr Myers and Mrs Inglesfield. Also remember the lovely dinner lady Mrs Smith, we were not allowed to have packed lunches in those days, but she made great food, not a chip in sight.
