Governor Categories and Appointments

Our Governing Board is made up of governors from a range of categories, each bringing valuable skills, experience and perspectives to support the strategic leadership of the school.

• Foundation Governors are appointed by the Diocese in accordance with the school's Instrument of Government and help preserve and develop the Christian character of the school.

• Parent Governors are elected by the parents and carers of pupils attending the school.

• Staff Governors are elected by members of the school staff.

• Local Authority Governors are nominated by the Local Authority and appointed by the Governing Board.

• The Headteacher serves as an Ex Officio Governor, becoming a governor by virtue of holding the office of Headteacher.

• The Vicar of Holy Trinity Church serves as an Ex Officio Foundation Governor, becoming a governor by virtue of holding the office of Incumbent.

Unless otherwise stated, governors serve a four-year term of office. Ex Officio Governors remain members of the Governing Board for as long as they hold their respective offices. Register of Business and Pecuniary Interests

To ensure openness, transparency and good governance, all governors are required to declare any relevant business, financial and pecuniary interests, as well as any governance or employment roles they hold in other educational establishments. These declarations help identify and manage any actual or potential conflicts of interest, ensuring that decisions are always made in the best interests of the school and its pupils.
